“National Beauty: Song and Dance Troupe of China” to Postpone Omaha Performance due to Coronavirus

 

 

 

Omaha, NE - The Nebraska Chinese Association (NCA) regrets to announce we must postpone our 2020 Lunar New Year Celebration.  This year for our annual gala, we are hosting the world-renowned a “National Beauty: Song and Dance Troupe of China”.  However we recently received word, the performing arts group is postponing their U.S. Tour due to concerns over the Coronavirus.

 

“We are not canceling our event, we just want to wait until this outbreak in China has passed,” said Linda Steele, NCA President.  “Both the NCA and performing arts group from China feels this is the best move for public safety.”

 

“National Beauty” is a national level performing art and cultural group directly under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China. The group has performed throughout China, where it has participated in many important national events and has represented China in nearly 100 countries and regions around the world.

 

The performance will feature oriental songs and dances created by famous Chinese artists in the folk-art style unique to China that epitomizes their deep love of culture, music, and dance. In addition to traditional, ethnic and modern Chinese dances, the performances will include music performed on traditional Chinese instruments.

 

“This is a true once in a lifetime experience,” said Linda Steele, President.  “We are so honored they have chosen to perform here in Omaha.  We are hoping for a spring performance.”

 

The performance will still be held at the Holland Performing Arts Center.  A VIP Cocktail and Dinner will be held before the performance.  VIP guests will enjoy a dinner featuring traditional Chinese banquet cuisine and an opportunity to meet the performers.

 

“It will be the most amazing and remarkable Asian cultural event in the Midwest region and a cultural extravaganza for the whole community,” said Steele.

 

A future performance date has yet to be decided.
